All Disney Cruise Line ships are equipped with Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs).
What Are AEDs?
AEDs are emergency medical devices that can help save lives in the event of cardiac arrest. When deployed, they send an electric current to the heart to help it reset itself from an ineffective rhythm.
Operating an AED
AEDs may be used by any Cast Member or Guest in response to a cardiac emergency. No training or certification is necessary—the device will prompt the user with step-by-step verbal instructions.
All AEDs deployed on a Disney Cruise Line ship are suitable for use on both adults and children. Doctors and nurses at the Health Center are also equipped with AEDs.
AED Locations
AEDs are located in high traffic areas, such as the theatres, pool deck, cabanas, spas and on select elevator landings. These emergency medical devices are housed in cabinets similar to those used to house fire extinguishers and display the AED symbol.
To learn about specific locations, visit the Guest Services Desk, call their 24-hour Guest Services phone line or ask a Cast Member.
Medical Emergencies
In the event of a cardiac emergency, notify the nearest Crew Member, or dial 7-3000 from any ship phone.
