There’s a saying in Melbourne: “You get to experience all 4 seasons in a single day.” And it’s true—the weather can be unpredictable. Summers, which run from December through February, typically range between 57° to 86° F (14° to 30° C). Still, triple-digit heatwaves are not uncommon during this time. The winter rainy season hits between June and August. July is the coolest month with lows around 43° and highs about 57° F (7° to 14° C).
How to Pay
Australia’s national currency is the Australian dollar (AUD). Debit and credit cards are also widely accepted; however, some merchants may impose a surcharge. ATMs are available throughout the city.
How to Get Around
With its sprawling parks, riverside walking paths, wide boulevards and narrow laneways, Melbourne is very pedestrian-friendly. The city is also home to the largest tram system in the world, so getting around town is a snap, especially on the City Circle tram. Trains, buses, taxis and rideshare services are also available.

Upon arriving at the port, please follow the signs directing you to the Disney Cruise Line ship and terminal. The Port of Melbourne is 23 minutes (26 kilometers/16 miles) from the Melbourne Airport.
The November 20, 2025, sailing will debark from the Queens Wharf Cruise Terminal in Auckland, New Zealand.
Parking
Limited public parking is available in Waterfront Place next to Station Pier. Additional charges apply. Melbourne Airport offers long-term parking facilities, and there are also multiple long-term parking options within the city.
Luggage Handling & Port Arrival Times
Disney Cruise Line representatives will be at the terminal to meet, greet, and check-in Guests from 11:15 AM. Guests are allowed to enter at their scheduled Port Arrival Time. Guests who do not have an opportunity to complete Online Check-In or do not have a Port Arrival Time should arrive after 2:00 PM. Porters will be on hand to assist with luggage.
Note: All Guests must be on board no later than the published All-Aboard time.
Youth Activities
Wristbands will be distributed to Guests during Youth Activities registration on board the ship.
Currency Exchange
There are no ATMs in the terminal. There is no currency exchange into Australian or New Zealand dollars on board.
