Local Culture and Flavor
With over 2,000 green parks, surrounding hills and a snaking river, Brisbane possesses the charm of a large country town rather than a bustling global city. What’s more, it’s a pretty city, known for its 19th-century timber architecture, vibrant street art, leafy neighborhoods and world-class alfresco dining. And because of its incredible natural environment and fantastic climate (Queensland is considered the country’s “Sunshine State”), life here revolves around the great outdoors. Popular activities include snorkeling, diving, kayaking, surfing and fishing, and on land, off-roading through bushland and tobogganing down sand dunes. Urban adventures include river cruises and climbing Brisbane’s iconic Story Bridge, where visitors can take in 360-degree views to Moreton Bay, the Glass House Mountains, Lamington National Forest and Brisbane River.

Today, the city of Brisbane is celebrated for its word-class museums, renowned art galleries, pulsing music scene and must-try restaurants. This fine city is also slated to host the 2032 Summer Olympics.
