Language
The primary languages spoken in Barcelona are Catalan and Spanish.

Weather
The weather is agreeable most every season in Barcelona. The winters are mild, with the lowest temperatures in January ranging between 46 to 63° F. The summer months heat up, with August temperatures rising between 77 to 88° F.

Tipping
It is not considered mandatory to tip in Spain. If you feel inclined, tipping 5 to 10% to show appreciation for great service is considerate.

How to Pay
The currency used in Spain is the euro. ATMs can be found in many areas of Barcelona, but many charge a fee for processing cash withdrawals.

How to Get Around
You can explore many of Barcelona’s hotspots by foot. However, other modes of transportation in the city are quite accessible and convenient. The metro system has numerous lines, there is a large bus network, many commuter trains, a tram service and taxis available.

Safety in Barcelona
Barcelona is a popular travel destination and considered very safe, but Disney Cruise Line Guests are always advised to follow safety precautions to protect valuables. 

Instances of pickpocketing activity may increase in busy tourist areas and outdoor festivals. Always be conscious of your personal belongings and surroundings. It is a good practice to keep your wallet in your front pocket and any bags securely zipped.

Upon arriving at the port, please follow the signs directing you to the Disney Cruise Line ship and terminal.

The Port of Barcelona is approximately 40 minutes (18 kilometers or 11.18 miles) from the Barcelona International Airport, and 30 minutes from the Barcelona hotels offered for Disney Cruise Line pre- and post-cruise nights. Time varies based on traffic.

The Disney Fantasy sailing on May 31, 2025, will disembark at the Port of Civitavecchia in Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy.

The Disney Fantasy sailing on July 24, 2025, will disembark at the Horizon Cruise Terminal in Southampton, England.

The Disney Dream sailing on May 30, 2026, will disembark at the Port of Civitavecchia in Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy.

The Disney Dream sailing on July 20, 2026, will disembark in Southampton, England.

By Taxi
Cab fares* are €39.00, with a luggage fee of €1.00 per bag. Also, there are 2 additional fees: one for the airport terminal pick up and the other for drop off at the cruise terminal.

Be sure to tell your taxi driver to go to the cruise terminal. If you only mention Terminal A or B, etc., you may end up at the airport terminal instead.

Parking
Because there is no general parking at the Port of Barcelona, park your vehicle at the nearby World Trade Center. The Port of Barcelona has designated parking areas for Guests with disabilities (valid permit required).

Luggage Handling & Transfers
Disney Cruise Line representatives will be at the terminal to meet, greet and check in Guests starting at 11:15 AM. Guests are allowed to enter at their scheduled Port Arrival Time. Guests who do not have a Port Arrival Time or have not had an opportunity to complete their Online Check-In should arrive after 2:00 PM. Porters will be on hand to assist with luggage.

Note: All Guests must be on board the ship no later than the published All-Aboard time.

Youth Activities
Wristbands will be distributed to Guests during Youth Activities registration on board the ship.

Currency Exchange
There are no ATMs in the terminal. However, there is a currency exchange service available at the terminal during the embarkation and debarkation process. You can also cash personal checks and exchange currency at the Guest Services desk on board the ship with a valid photo I.D. The various ports of call have ATMs as well.

Wheelchair Accessibility
The terminal building and parking areas are wheelchair accessible. If you require temporary use of a wheelchair at the pier upon embarkation or debarkation, please request one upon arrival at the cruise terminal.
